What do teachers do all holiday? It’s a question I’ve often been asked over the years, and it’s been a slightly different answer since I started at Crewe Engineering & Design UTC.

Some staff started over a year ago, but even as one of the newer members of the team, I’ve got stuck in straight away. From subject planning to staff meetings, I’m getting more and more excited about all the wonderful things we can do once we open.

The staff have come from all corners of the North West and beyond, and have not only been chosen for their extensive industrial and subject knowledge, but because we are all enthusiastic about moulding the next generation of engineers here in Crewe.

We believe making education relevant is the key to making our students successful, and this is our driving force when planning for this year. We want to use great examples, have our business partners involvement and of course we want our students to have fun. The last one is my personal favourite!

So, what are the teachers of Crewe UTC doing all holiday? Planning, chatting, visiting the wonderful new building, and of course having some well deserved rest so we are ready to go in September.

I’m so excited to meet all our Year 10 and 12 students in September, and to be part of building a unique school, which offers fantastic opportunities for young people.
