Geoff Dowding

Geoff is the Director for Bentley Mulliner which is the specialist vehicle and personal commissioning division at Bentley Motors.

Geoff started his career straight from school as a Commercial Apprentice at Vauxhall Motors in Luton and has stayed in the motor industry ever since.  Geoff worked for Nissan, Porsche and then Harley-Davidson before joining Bentley in 1999.  He has held various commercial roles within Bentley and during his time as Regional Director for Asia and the Middle East was instrumental in the development of a number of emerging markets China, which is now the second largest market for Bentley.

Mathew Conway

Mathew started his working life as an apprentice in the British Steel Shotton Works aged 15.

On completing his apprenticeship and gaining an ONC, HNC and HND Mathew left to further both his academic and professional career by attending Manchester Metropolitan University and obtaining a degree as well as working for various companies around the world.

Mathew has worked in most industry sectors (all but Aviation and Marine) having skills obtained from his Apprenticeship and knowledge from his academic studies.

With the experienced gained, Mathew co-founded his company OSL in 2006 where it now provides turnkey engineering services to the Rail, utility and energy sectors.

Georgina Harris

Georgina is the Head of School of Engineering at the Manchester Metropolitan University (8th September 2014).

Georgina’s previous role was as the Site Engineer and Power Specialist for the Square Kilometre Array Program Development Office (SPDO) and after this the SKA Support Engineer at the new Square Kilometre Array (SKA) Organisation (January 2011 to January 2013). The SKA (in the South African and Australian deserts) will be the world’s largest radio telescope providing astrophysicists and cosmologists with a transformational view of the Universe.

Georgina held the roles of PrepSKA UK Project Manager (October 2009 to December 2010) and SKADS System Design and Team Leader (October 2006 to September 2009) responsible for the production of the UK SKA demonstrator, 2-PAD (2 Polarisations All Digital) at Jodrell Bank Observatory in Cheshire. She is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer with an Engineering Doctorate, a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters Degree in Business Administration. Georgina has worked in a number of academic-industrial collaboration projects.
